In collaboration with our local joint-venture partner, Zera FD Cultural Development Co., F&D Scene Changes is thrilled to announce our contribution to the Shanghai Disneyland Resort that officially opened on June 16th, 2016. Located in Pudong, Shanghai, the park has an “authentically Disney and distinctly Chinese” identity. Visitors to the park will discover the 11 acre Gardens of Imagination, Mickey Avenue, extensive picnic areas, and plenty of live entertainment. During the 6 week soft opening period, there were over one million visitors to the park!
This multi-year project includes F&D scenery for the following theatrical shows:
Tarzan: Call of the Jungle
A live acrobatic stage version of the iconic feature film Tarzan, this show features the original music from the film combined with local performers and plenty of dance. F&D fabricated all the scenery for this show; including a 39’ tall Banyan tree, jungle foliage, and 3 large moving rocks for performers to climb.
For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration
Located in Evergreen Playhouse, the Frozen Sing Along Celebration is an interactive show that features many of the popular characters from the animated feature film Frozen. F&D fabricated elements including Olaf’s sleigh, snowflakes, ice blocks, and an ice balcony for performers.
The Lion King
As one of the most popular stage musicals in the world, The Lion King at Walt Disney Grand Theatre is the first ever Mandarin adaptation of the show. F&D fabricated the rehearsal scenery as well as other main show elements.
Pepsi E-Stage in Tomorrowland
As part of the evening programming, bands and DJ’s occupy the pod-style stage built by F&D Scene Changes.
As part of the general park atmosphere, F&D created props for multiple lands including: the Treasure Cove Props, Storyland Props, Fantasyland Props, Musical Instruments and Character Vehicles.
